Tech guide….Rabia garib

I hate computers and Hi tech equipments and gadgets..they show-off,demand more than they are actually worth,and challenge my idiosyncrasy..but when i sit on them they begins to panic,crumble and go black.

Computers in my life have evolved just like computers when i was six months old somebody gave me an Abascus,in teens the commodor,than xt,and Pentium iv.The time when computer crumbles or go black is probably the worst most embarrassing time in your life you can’t give it up so you think about up-grading..sometimes you can and sometimes you can’t afford it so you start learning more and more about what’s the latest and the best. You check the markets,talk to your friends and colleagues,read the magazines and watch the tech shows…

In the nineties when the computers were changing faster than the time itself,Bill gates and qurashi were working day and nights,IBM and Intel were printing money$$$$…me had a very dear friend we used to call on the phone or visit each other at odd hours and chat for hours about the developments in the tech world…whats in and what’s out ….who’s who and who’s not..the fellow had all the info i ever needed he was always two steps ahead of me ,maybe because he did market research,visit khori garden regularly for latest books and magazines and had other friends(even your 24hrs housewife have other friends and well-wishers you have to learn to live with it ,the sooner the better because even though they maybe just a name for you but most of them are actually your friend as well ..in case of a divorce,if you get over the emotional thing chances are that they become your full time friends…sympathetically yours..!) from whom he learned things that sound unbelievable yet were true….the amazing stuff..! He save me from a quite a hassle because after talking with him i always had an opinion that this is not the right time to waste the money..better and cheaper things are coming soon as they say “there will be nudity”. Unfortunately we had to break-up because i changed….he probably still be the same. also because he wanted me to marry Chelsea ….he probably saw her picture with Bill gates in one of those khori garden magazines and thought the two were related ….years later i found another picture of gates with Mother terassa But it was too late…….

I don’t work for the real people so i don’t have colleagues and co-workers whom i can bump into at the coffee breaks and ask what’s up….i don’t enjoy visiting the markets anymore so when once again in my life i found myself in the most embarrassing state as i mentioned above i decided to watch all the tech shows as i don’t understand the lingo they use in the tech magazines these days …never did..!

The best tech show on any cable channel at the moment is SAMAA.TV’s Bits&Bytes presented by Rabia garib an IT expert involved in many online and off line activities related to the field . Rabia is an experienced tv host/anchor as she has presented shows on other big channels such as Ptv and Geo.She is also a regular blogger and a very respected member of the Karachi metroblogging team.

Keep it up Rabia …..you are the Best..!

PS:the drinks offer was a one night stand as you and musharraf were under pressure forget it please…:-p
